Great deals abound for the keen nature watcher during the festival. There’s daily Royal Albatross Express Tours, a 30 minute insight into Dunedin’s royals, with the chance to see giant albatross chicks, including the Royalcam celebrity for a fraction of the usual cost. Each evening you can see the world’s smallest penguins pitter-pattering home at Pilots Beach, with a special family deal. Hear how Blue Penguins Pukekura has a project to RFID chip their whole penguin population and learn lots more about their breeding, survival rates and daily activities.
